  1. I'm with the Federalists because we have government that is very hard and strong, but its better to have this government then no government at all. We also have the Bill of rights, and the federalists were somewhat pessimistic about human nature and believed that the government must resist the passions of general public, They also tended to place their faith in the talents of a small governing elite.

Now the Anti-Federalists don't agree with us because we have a strong government. Honestly, even though we have a strong government, it doesn't matter because everything is under control and if we went with the anti-federalists, then we would be in wreck right now. Also, the anti-federalists is very like greedy, all they want was freedom when the federalists have freedom and the liberty as long as they follow with it, but they did and i think we have a pretty good government.

  2. I chose the federalists. The federalists are so much better because we won the ratification for the U.S. constitution. Also we have a government that is very strong. I bet that the anti - federalists are so jealous of us because we're so much better than them and I, for one agree with Gloria J.

The anti-federalists apposedagainst a strong government and then later apposed against the ratification of the constitution. But they only did it because they feared a monarchy. I believe that they did'nt want a strong government but I get why. They simply feared one part would get more power than the other.

  3. Barry L. I'm with the Anti-Federalist because their just better. You guys think that we should have one strong national government. Well your wrong we believe that the people matter way more then the government. We should be the ones deciding what we should do and we shouldn't have someone above us we should all have equal power. I think its so unfair that we have one national government and the locals don't have a say in anything. Not for long because we will prove that were way better and you guys will see that your wrong and were right.

  4. Barry commented that the locals don't have a say in the national government - is this true? I thought that the local governments still assisted in the decision-making process. Isn't that what congress is for?

  5. I choose the Federalist because, The Federalists had answers to all of the Anti-Federalist complaints. Among them:

*The separation of powers into three independent branches protected the rights of the people. Each branch represents a different aspect of the people, and because all three branches are equal, no one group can assume control over another.
*A listing of rights can be a dangerous thing. If the national government were to protect specific listed rights, what would stop it from violating rights other than the listed ones? Since we can't list all the rights, the Federalists argued that it's better to list none at all.

The Anti-Federalists, on the other hand, did not want to ratify the Constitution. Basically, they argue that:

*It gave too much power to the national government at the expense of the state governments.
*There was no bill of rights.
The national government could maintain an army in peacetime.
Congress, because of the `necessary and proper clause,' wielded too much power.
*The executive branch held too much power.

  6. I am with the federalists beacuse we had a strong government. We were also more organized. We won the ratification in June of 1788. We also had a bill of rights. Our powers were divided into three branches to protect the right of the people. We were well educated.

The anti-federalists had too much power. They had NO BILL OF RIGHTS. They were not has organized. They didn't have well edication. They had poor farming.

  7. John F. I am on the federalists side because they knew how to run a government. They had a well controlled government with the right amount of power that split up into three branches. The three branches were the judicial, executive, and legislative branches. They also had "The Bill of Rights" which gave each citizen equal rights with everyone. That's why I'm with the federalists.

The Anti-federalists were unorganized. They gave too much power to the government and paid no attention to anyone else. They had no "Bill of rights" which means that no one had equal or the same amount of rights. They did have the three branches of government but gave to much power to the executive branch. They also could not make a strong army. That's why I'm not with the Anti-federalists.

  8. To Stephanie and John,

The Anti-Federalists were just as organized and educated as the Federalists and many were wealthy plantation owners who knew how to farm. The Anti-Federalists did not want to create a strong national government, therefore, they would not want to give too much power to the government. Rather, they would want to remove power from the national government and give it back to the people. Their history with the English government created a fear that a strong national government can protect the rights of the people, however, it can just as easily remove the rights of the people. To prevent this, the Anti-Federalists desired a bill of rights and refused to compromise on the Constitution unless the document included a list of protections for the people. Please check where you received that information.

  9. Johnathon O. I am with the Federalists because we are trying to help give you a better government. We are the best because we are giving the people a better government that is better then the Articles of the Confederation. I just cant see why you are resisting what we are trying to do for you. You think that it is bad that a government taxes but it is a good thing because it is what builds your roads to drive on and a house to live in.

  10. Mark F. I am with the Anti - Federalists because without the Anti -Federalists there would not have been any change in the government. For example the Anti-Federalists wanted the first 10 amendments A.K.A the Bill Of Rights. Freedom of Speech, Right to bear arms, Soldiers cannot be forced to live in your house,Warrants are needed, do not have to testify against your self, right to trial by jury, right to law suits, no cruel unusual government, and other rights not stated in the Constitution are guaranteed by the Anti- Federalists. With out the Anti-Federalists we wouldn't have any of our normal right and this country would be totally different.

I don't want people to go with the Federalists because even though they can grant a strong government there is no guarantee that the government will not take away all of our natural rights that I had posted in my statement before.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I'm an antifederalist and I think we need a stronger government. We don't want our rights taken away that we fought for . Would you want some one to come up to you and say you can't do this no that's not fair.

You guys think your government need to be weekened. You federalist are so stupid. You want a weaker government when we have a good one. What if something happens in you government, then you wont have the power to make a law, enough said

We do this by one we made the branches on goverment judicial, executive, and legislative branches. You should lission to us becaues we were the ones who got picked to make our goverment! You should not be with the Anti-Federalist because they were all about makeing money and trying to make it all about them.

Im a federalist and being a federalist is so much better then a anti-federalits becuase we obviously made three branches of government that are very important to everyone and by having this type of government we could be the best counrty of them all. anti-federalist are worried about them selves and how there going to make money. so dont let selvish people make the government. the government should be about us. I’m with the federalists because they were more educated. They were a strong government and controlled uncooperative states. Federalist also had all their answers to the anti-federalist complaints. The federalists were more organized in their effort. They drafted the bill of rights. The federalist protected the rights of people.
The anti-federalist movement was afraid of monarchy. They thought the President would become a king. They thought that a large nation could not protect individual rights. They believed a small republic could defend individual rights. Some anti-federalists opposed the constitution and others didn’t. Since they were not as organized as the federalist this opposition movement disappeared.

  16. Im with the Federalists because they are a better & stronger Government & also has the power to overide laws & a Government that supports the People an the town. The Federalists Believed that the people should be wealthy and well educated.

On the other hand the Anti-Federalist is Government that took away from the states & did not guarantee rights for the people. They were strongly against the idea of a strong Central Government & they fear that the government would abuse their power.

  18. Ive got to say the Anti-Federalists are good. But not as good as the Federalists. My choice is the Federalists my reason(s) for that is because they are better and stronger. The Federalists were led by two very intelagint people, they are known as Alexander Hamiltom and James Madison. They were part of a very strong goverment called the Federalists. In order to try and win ratification for the new Consitution from the state of New York, they wrote a series of "Essays" all signed, That it stated their position. These were put onto a "newspaper"(printing press). The 85 articles are now known as the Federalists papers. Witch happend in the year of 1788!!

I am with the federalist becaus we are more of a stronger grouop. the anti-federalists had the bill of rights whcih was basically only 10 laws to follow but federalists have the bill of rights and 17 more amendments. The cool thing about this is as time goes on we can change those 17 amendments around. think about it if the anit-federalists won the rights over (whcih they didn't) then we would strictly have 10 rules to follow. What are we on house arrest? i dont think so. lets be a strong supportive group and live young, wild, and free in a say what we have and do!

  20. I am on the Federalists side. I feel that we are stronger as a whole. I know my side is better because we were the first American Political party. We also controlled the Federal government until 1801. John Adams was our only president. And we left a lasting impression as we finished a new government for a good supreme court policy.

I feel Federalist are right because Anti-Federalists felt that they did not want to ratify the Constitution just because ,they felt, it gave out to much power. Another reason why they did not want to ratify the Constitution was because there was no Bill of Rights. They Felt that the executive branch held too much power. We were more organized in our efforts. The Anti-Federalists feared that the states would lose too much power. They wanted the Bill of Rights to be in the Constitution.

  24. Hello my name is Alyssa Gulbert and I am a federalist. I am a Federalist because we are very well educated and we are for the Constitution. We want the Constitution, we want to ratify it. This document is important to us, so is the Bill of Rights.

I think the Federalists are better than the Anti-Federalists because we have more of a political plan. Federalists are well organized, made carful use of printed word and were well funded. We try to explain why people should approve the Constitution. We have more talented leaders who had more experience with the national level work. We the Federalists, support the national rights of the citizens.

The Anti- Federalists won't ratify the Constitution. They support the state rights and they want limited federal rights. They want the power to go to the states. They didn't want the federal government to take their states debts. They belived that all of the debt was their problem, not the federal government.

  25. ANTI-FEDERALISTS, because anti federalists are awesome and oppose to ratify the new form of government. the bill of rights should have been added into the constitution but was not so that caused 10 new amendments. We did not want to much centralized power in one area, so we will be weak in other areas. We think its should all be equal for the states. so if we ever get attacked we can have equal protection everywhere.

  26. So Alyssa, the federalists were better educated, does that mean they know what's best? I'm Lori Koons and i'm on the Anti-Federalists side.

The Anti-federalists warned you that the cost Americans would bear in both liberty and resources for the government that would evolve under the constitution would rise sharply. That is why our objects led to the Bill of Rights, to limit that tendency. Anti-Federalists opposed the constitution because its checks on federal power would be undermind by expansive interpretations of promoting the "general welfare" and the "all laws necessary and proper" clause, creating a federal government with unwarranted and undelegated powers that were bound to be abused.

The federalists didnt want the Bill Of Rights, becuase they wanted to limit the influence that the average citizen would have on the government. the federalists wanted wealth. they wanted all the rich people to make the decisions.the Bill Of Rights allows everyone to vote. the federalists only wanted wealthy educated land owners to vote. To sum it up, the Federalists wanted all the power and didn't want anybody else to have any. Some of the Federalists polices were anti democratic.

  27. Hi my name is Aldo and the side I am on is Anti-Federalists because the Federalists were those people who supported: big national government; taxes; executive, legislative, and judicial branches; inter-state trade; a standing army; and assumption of state debt.

The Anti-Federalists' side is awesome because we wanted a Bill of Rights and the Federalists did not so we wanted to have freedom and they did not want to have freedom. We want a smaller national government. We don't want that all the rich people should make the decisions; we want to make our own decisions. And we wanted a Bill of Rights to protect our freedom. People should listen to me so they can have the rights to do what they want. Our side is awesome because we have Patrick Henry and John Hancock.

  28. Wayne W. Im a Fedralist because we wanted a better goverment. The goverment we got is still lasting. The Anti-Federalists want to keep that other goverment. The other goverment was weak. Thats why i think Federalists are better then Anti-Federslists.

  29. Why am I a anti-Federalist? Is it because the anti-Feds approached me when I was barely on my feet, asking if I needed help? Is it because they are active and know what they're doing? Is it because the anti-Feds care for each individual member? No, none of this has happened. I am a 9th grade student. After out great struggle to be independent from Britain why do people insist on a central all powerful government? History has a tendency to repeat itself, and if you choose to side with the federalists then you wish to be under the rule of a "king". (who may be no different than King George.) Our highest priority is to for you to keep your individual rights and prevent another downfall of our nation. With the power residing in equally represented states there will be no oppresive government!

  30. The Federalists created more revenue by crating new taxes and increasing others. I guess I side the Federalists because they placed advancement of country before people's rights. The constitution was actually meant to take power away from the states and place it in the hands of the Fed government. The Bill of Rights was later added on by the Anti-Federalists to preserve some of the rights of the people. the advancement of America was better because of the Federalists. They were for the Constitution and the rights to the people in the government.

The anti federalists are smarter. We know whats better for ourselves. With the articles we don't pay heavy duty taxes. What about you federalosts? Infringing taxes among us. We could still raise an army without a constitution. We couls still have democracy. It's not like its antarchy.

If the federalalists did get their way, we'd be in major debt because they would increase our taxes. We fought a war for our freedom from heavy taxes, correct? Then why would we let them strip that freedom away.

  32. I am an anti-federalist. I am against the Constitution because there isn't a Bill of Rights, which will take our natural rights away like life, liberty, and property. If we lose these rights, would we be free anymore? Not really. I would rather avoid having another strong government that is going to take our rights away again, like before the Revolution.

I think that the federalists, on the other hand, were hasty to make the choice of agreeing with the Constitution. If the government is divided into 1 part, then one person gets all the control, which isn't good because then we would have another strong government, like Britain's. This is why we fought the Revolution, to get away from Britain's power and government.

  33. I'm a federalist, because federalism had checks and balances. That made it so that power was divided between the three branches of government and the power couldn't be abused. There was a stronger central government, so that laws wouldn't be different in some states than they are in others and so no matter where you went, most laws would be equal.

Anti-federalists didn't want a strong central government. They wanted a strong state government. That would make the country divided and that would make it weaker because it wouldn't work together as a whole.

I side with the anti-federalists. The anti-federalists were in my opinion the better side of the two. They had the concience to get the rights to the people before they made a move. The Federalists had the no-smarts to make a rash decision just for a new plan of government. I agree with helene with the one person having power and no power being diveded among the people. I think what the federalists did was a hasty, fast paced and without much thought.
I completely agree with helene's response. The anti-federalist's plan was a very clearly thought out plan for the constitution. The federalists didn't really think the right way with the rights of the people and how the power is going to be divided among the people.

The side I pick between Federalists and Anti-Federalists is, Federalists. I pick the Federalists because I think it is good that they support the Constitution. What they have been doing seems to help everyone with there daily needs. Anti- Federalists don’t support the Constitution, they oppose the Constitution. And I think you should agree with me because the Constitution is a big Law/Document they stats what you can and cant have, what you can own, what things you can or cant being into different stats etc.

Federalists are amazing because, of they way they work around us. You should like the Federalists because, if you like the way the USA is right now you should like them because if you like the Anti-Federalists who knows what the word could be like. The Federalists believed that the writers knew that the word would change and this way the document would always be relevant to our society. This gives Congress the ability to conduct certain powers what they believe in necessary and proper, but that are not specifically listed in the Constitution.

Anti-Federalists didn’t want the government to pass the Constitution because, they are losers and want only one person to own one house one gun etc. for the rest of their lives and that will never change. They didn’t believe that the world should change at all. They also think that everything should be labeled specifically in the Constitution. I don’t know why someone would want things to never change, unless your boring!

Im with the ferderalists because we need a strong National Government and there cant be all the power to the three branches. There has to be a division so all the power goes to each branch and if one part has to much power than it can get out of hand and with not be able to have a people say in what they are doing.

The Anti-Ferderalists wanted all the power in The state. But there shouldnt be power in the state because they have no idea what is going on in that state that they are making all the laws for.
